Three generations of Passion, Craftsmanship & Innovation

1963 - 2000

A Family Business with a Heart for Cycling

It all started in Heeten, when Anton and Mieny Nijland opened a small bicycle and moped shop. Their journey took a new turn when Anton built a special tricycle for a child with a disability. From that moment, the focus shifted from sales to innovation and inclusivity. Their son and daughter-in-law, Willy and Annet, continued that vision, turning the company into a specialist in rehabiliation and adaptive bikes.

2000 - 2015

From Rehabilitation Bikes to Cargo Bike Innovation

In the early 2000s, Nijland expanded into tandems, tricycles and cargo bikes for professional use. Known for flexibility and craftsmanship, the company developed custom bikes for rental companies, care institutions and childcare centers. This expertise gradually became the foundation for a new generation of professional cargo bikes, built with even higher standards of reliability and daily usability.

2015 - 2025

Innovating Urban Transport

With the arrival of Luuk and Koen Nijland, the third generation, the company focuses even more on sustainability and modern mobility. This led to the creation of the Cargo Cycling brand, dedicated to designing and producing e-cargo bikes for last-mile logistics, urban services and fleet operators.

Our development team does more than designing new models. They continuously refine existing bikes, making improvements based on feedback, rigorous testing, and real-world usage. Every adjustment, whether small or large, is aimed at creating safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable rides.

In our welding hall, we build our frames. We combine skilled manual welding with the precision of two advanced robotic systems. This hybrid approach ensures flexibility, speed, and durability, allowing us to efficiently produce standard models while also adapting frames for specific fleet needs or innovative new concepts.

Wheel Building
Crafted for Durability and Performance

Wheels carry the load, literally. That is why we build them in-house. Each wheel is hand-laced, carefully tensioned, and inspected for durability. This meticulous craftsmanship ensures smooth riding performance, even under heavy loads and across demanding urban terrain. And if more robustness is needed, we make our wheels from steel!

Paintshop
Precision Finishing for Lasting Quality

Our paintshop applies high-quality coatings with careful attention to detail, protecting each frame from wear, scratches, and harsh weather. Every bike leaves with a durable finish that enhances longevity and gives a professional, polished, and striking appearance.

Assembly
Where Everything Comes Together

In assembly, all components are brought together with care and precision. Every bike is thoroughly checked, carefully tested, and fully inspected to ensure it consistently meets our high standards for safety, reliability, and performance before leaving the production floor.

Our work does not stop once production is complete. We provide ongoing service, detailed maintenance guidance, and dedicated support to make sure every bike continues to perform at its best, remains safe, and delivers reliable performance throughout its entire lifespan.
